Shopify on Instagram Feature is Rolling Out Just in Time of Holiday Season
Shopify announced that will roll its “Shopping on Instagram” feature to thousands of more merchants. Selected merchants can choose if they would like to take part or not in this program, as is still under testing condition.
Those who choose to connect their Shopify catalog with Instagram can create sales posts by tagging their products.
Any new post can be tagged with a product right from within the Instagram app. When users see the tag, tapping on it will bring up the option to buy the product.
What about transactions?
Transactions can be completed within the Instagram app as well, making it an effortless experience for both the merchant and the customer.
“Shopping on Instagram” has been in limited testing throughout 2017. With “many thousands” more merchants being invited to the program, it sounds like we’re going to learn a lot more about the potential Instagram has as a shopping platform.
Expanding for the Holidays
“Shopping on Instagram” feature is rolling just in time for the holiday season, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Shopify plans to expand this for broader access to merchants in the future, as further testing and development happen during this rollout.
Future of Mobile Shopping
Merchants want to grow their business with shoppers on mobile, and Shopping on Instagram presents an immersive new way for them to do just that. As Instagrammers find and engage with merchants they love, Instagram and Shopify will be helping connect them seamlessly to their products too.
